Our two-year-old third child fell and left a deep tear wound on his face. To avoid scarring, we used a seamless adhesive bandage to aid wound healing (as recommended by a pediatric surgeon). However, I was not entirely satisfied with the scar condition.

He fell from a high chair, likely hitting the edge of a wooden dining table or the edge of the plastic table of the child's chair. The wound was deep, opened, and continuously bleeding. Fortunately, we had experience dealing with injuries to our first two children and knew how to stop bleeding, clean wounds, and apply 3M seamless adhesive bandages. For new parents, taking a baby to the emergency room would likely result in stitches and a larger scar to prevent infection.

The next day, still concerned, we took him to a familiar pediatric surgeon to examine the wound. The doctor said our use of the seamless adhesive bandage was good, and there were no signs of infection. The doctor did not perform any additional treatment.

Although my husband and I don't have a predisposition to keloids in our family, and our first two children did not experience it either, the wound on our third child's face occasionally developed granulation tissue during the healing process. The improvement of granulation tissue with cosmetic tape was not as expected. As a mother, feeling guilty about our child's injury, I kept thinking about what more I could do to help. Eventually, I decided to try calendula salve from the Rosemary Garden.

After trying calendula cream, I found that the scars had faded significantly, reducing my sense of guilt. Compared to the over-the-counter scar gel used by our eldest in the past, calendula cream was much more effective. The speed of scar fading was noticeably faster, and there was almost no pain when calendula cream was applied to unhealed wounds. The children readily accepted it.

So now, for any wound or scar, the priority is to apply calendula cream to the children, as it is non-irritating, and the children don't resist at all. Thank you, Teacher Erica!

Calendula cream can stop bleeding. We usually recommend customers use pure hydrosols such as Yarrow, Calendula, Cistus, Helichrysum flower, etc., for disinfection.
